Hey, it's Katie, your mood disorder doula, here with this week's Self-Care Saturday!

Today, we’re focusing on a simple yet powerful way to ground yourself: a Five Senses Reset.

The setup: warm cup of tea, some decadent chocolate, your journal, a cozy blanket, and some candles.
The setup: warm cup of tea, some decadent chocolate, your journal, a cozy blanket, and some candles.

When life feels overwhelming, taking just five minutes to engage each of your senses can help calm your nervous system and bring you back to the present moment.

Before you begin take 3 deep, slow cleansing breathes. In the the nose out through the mouth and repeat your favorite mantra. Mine is "I am doing my best" on the in breath and "letting go of the rest." on the out breath.

Lets begin

Sight

Look at something beautiful. This could be the sky, a favorite photo, or a candle’s soft glow.

Sound

Listen to a calming song, nature sounds, or even silence. Let yourself soak in the auditory experience.

Touch

Hold something soothing, like a warm mug, a cozy blanket, or a smooth stone. Feel the texture and temperature.

Smell

Breathe in a comforting scent. Essential oils, fresh herbs, or even the smell of coffee can be grounding.

Taste

Mindfully enjoy a sip of tea, a piece of chocolate, or a bite of something nourishing. Savor the flavors.

✨ Bonus

Write down how you feel after this reset. Small moments of self-care add up!
